What's The Value-Add of Re-Electing Trustee Hill?
April 2, 2023 - Listen to Trustee Hill tell you, in her own voice, how she is a value-add to our Board of Trustees and why she should be re-elected as our Alumni Representative .
First, I want to say, "Thank You", again, Clark Atlanta University Alumni. My sincerest thanks and appreciation for your choice to Trust "E" as your Alumni Trustee for the last two years. I am humbled and honored you have entrusted me with this responsibility.
Over the years, and throughout my term, I have listened to our alumni community. I hear your affection, pride, and optimism for the future of our dear Alma Mater and Alumni Association. I remain fully dedicated to partnering with you to strengthen our University.
I am asking again for your vote and continued support because I have proven through my resourcefulness, reliable representation, and RESULTS over the last two years, that my loyalty, alumni experience, and ability to embrace the full scope of my responsibilities as a Board member and fiduciary, make me a committed and qualified partner in moving our University forward. Our alumni, students, and University have experienced the benefits of my passion, commitment, hard work and expertise. I hope you will take a few minutes to browse this website and get a glimpse into the advocacy, proposals, and reporting that will take you "in the room where it happened", to know that I am the needed candidate to continue fulfilling the awesome responsibilities of this position.
I have offered a level of transparency, representation, and accessibility in this position that has never been performed by an Alumni Representative to our Board of Trustees. I have always been focused on what matters to the Institution’s long-term sustainability and went into this office intent on being a value-add to our Board of Trustees. If you have been present in our National Meetings or received my communication to alumni, you have witnessed the high level of detail, thoroughness, and information that I have provided in my reports.
You know about the proposals that have been made or approved. You know about the courageous advocacy I have offered. I am not afraid to constructively challenge and speak up on important issues, even if they are uncomfortable or unpopular – while also remaining supportive of the administration and fellow alumni leaders. Many of you have experienced me being the guest of a Chapter for a National Forum, Chapter Meeting, or I just showed up for your Chapter Meeting to show my support and to let you know how much I value our Chapters. They are the foundation of our Association. I see you.
We have a very unique history thanks to Clark University, Clark College, and Atlanta University. Because of that rich history, I strongly believe that as Clark Atlanta University we have the opportunity and obligation to leverage that history with a student-centered culture, and enhanced alumni engagement to propel our University. We are in the midst of a Capital Campaign, we have several openings in key positions at the University, and we need enhanced operational integrity in our Association, all coupled with everything that goes into recovering from the effects of the pandemic.
I genuinely believe that our voices as alumni matter, and the relationship between our alumni and CAU should be reciprocal and mutually beneficial. I am passionate about encouraging alumni to take our rightful places as key stakeholders in the future of our dear Clark Atlanta University. I have the earned credibility to be a reliable representative of your voices.
I strongly believe that in order to improve alumni support and engagement for our University, you must have innovative, inclusive, transformative, impactful alumni like myself in alumni leadership who are selfless and will be a voice to represent the needs and priorities of our students, alumni, and CAU family.
I humbly ask for your vote because I understand the responsibility that comes with serving in this capacity to preserve our legacy. My professional, entrepreneurial, alumni, and actual Trustee experiences all make me uniquely qualified, along with my unwavering passion for a better CAU. I will be proud to continue serving as your alumni representative on our Board of Trustees, as well as the CAUAA Board, and continue to be your advocate, as we work together to advance our University.
In addition to reviewing the detailed documentation of my advocacy, representation, and RESULTS, I have the confidence to refer you to my colleagues on the Board of Trustees. These are not endorsements, however, if you want an opinion about my service... ask a Trustee.
